HiveMQ Edge 2025.16 is Released
What’s new in HiveMQ Edge 2025.16
We’re pleased to announce the inclusion of the Pulse Agent in HiveMQ Edge enabling support for HiveMQ Pulse Assets. Asset mapping in HiveMQ Edge will allow data sources collected at the edge to be combined into single MQTT payloads for publishing northbound and utilization with HiveMQ Pulse, our new distributed intelligence offering.
How it works
HiveMQ Edge now connects to HiveMQ Pulse using secure activation tokens to stream operational data into your unified namespace.

Assets created in the HiveMQ Pulse interface can then be pushed to specific Edge instances for mapping. Our new Assets workflow in HiveMQ Edge will provide the status of each Asset associated with that Edge instance.

Unmapped instances can then be populated by the user and set to publish northbound from HiveMQ Edge.

Once your Asset is streaming to Pulse its status will change in the Asset list, and the Workspace will show the Asset streaming via the Edge Broker node.

How it helps
Part of the key intelligence functionality of HiveMQ Pulse is the ability to contextualise tags to process and contextualize data in motion to reduce delays, improve efficiency, minimize downtime, and drive faster, data-driven decisions.

Deprecation Notice
HiveMQ Edge has now migrated to JDK v21 this version of HiveMQ Edge, as well as each preceding version will need to be run in the Java run time environment for v21 or higher.
JDK v21 provides many enhancements and improvements to the efficiency and performance of HiveMQ Edge, and enables future data operations capabilities to be brought to the product.
Should you need to run HiveMQ Edge on a 32bit Architecture, or are already running Edge on a 32bit architecture then you should not use any version after 2025.15.
