What's New in HiveMQ 4.41?

by HiveMQ Team

The HiveMQ team is pleased to announce the release of HiveMQ Enterprise MQTT Platform 4.41. This release focuses on performance improvements, feature refinements, and bug fixes to enhance overall efficiency and usability.

Features and Improvements

HiveMQ Enterprise MQTT Broker

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the backpressure-active-clients and backpressure-active-receive-buffer metrics to remain high after the clients that caused backpressure were disconnected.
  • Fixed an issue that could erroneously remove subscriptions under certain circumstances during a rolling restart or upgrade.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the proper removal of enqueued retained messages from the message queue of a subscriber when using the discard-oldest strategy.
  • Increased the number of retained messages that can be enqueued when a large max-queue-size is configured.
  • To avoid unnecessary memory usage, the broker now determines whether an MQTT packet exceeds the maximum allowed size before fully decoding the message payload.

HiveMQ Control Center v2

  • Corrected the display of variable-length metadata (TLVs) in the PROXY protocol header.
  • Fixed an issue to ensure the correct display of the session invalidation button for connected clients.
  • Added the option to send the last will message to the disconnect and invalidate session actions.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the deletion of restored backup files.
  • Fixed an issue on the dropped message overview chart to ensure the correct display of data based on the selected level of granularity.
  • Added a link to make the CCv1 Data Hub interface discoverable from CCv2.

HiveMQ Enterprise Security Extension

  • Removed unnecessary error log output when using a JWT authentication manager with disconnect-after-expiry.

HiveMQ Enterprise Extension for Kafka

  • Added support for IAM role configuration to AWS credential authentication.

HiveMQ Enterprise Bridge Extension

  • Added an option to force Bridge clients with a persistent session to resubscribe to the configured topics on reconnect.

HiveMQ Enterprise Data Lake Extension

  • Fixed an issue to enable the use of IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA) for secure AWS access.

HiveMQ REST API

  • Added a new disconnectedSince field that shows the time when a client with a persistent session (cleanStart = false) was last connected to the broker.
