HiveMQ Platform Operator for Kubernetes 2.1.1 Maintenance Release

by HiveMQ Team

The HiveMQ Team is pleased to announce the availability of HiveMQ Platform Operator for Kubernetes 2.1.1. This maintenance release for the 2.1 series provides important bug fixes and usability enhancements.

HiveMQ Platform Operator for Kubernetes Helm Charts

  • Fixed an issue where TLS listeners could share the same keystore or truststore password from a Kubernetes Secret.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a validation error when rendering the HiveMQ Platform Helm chart with the monitoring flag enabled.

NOTE: If your TLS listeners use multiple Secrets for keystore and truststore passwords, the updated HiveMQ Platform Helm chart now creates separate environment variables for each Secret. As a result, updating the Helm chart can trigger a rolling restart.

HiveMQ Platform Operator for Kubernetes

  • Added a K8s event when the operator restarts a HiveMQ Platform pod during a rolling restart.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause HiveMQ Platform pods to restart multiple times when pod termination was delayed.
  • Fixed an issue in rolling restart detection for ConfigMaps and Secrets when multiple files are observed for changes.
  • Fixed an issue where a HiveMQ Platform Operator Init App update could get stuck if the HiveMQ Platform pod already had the current version annotation.
  • Fixed an issue where the HiveMQ Operator Init App Update for 1.x versions was triggered on all HiveMQ Platform pods, regardless of their current init app version.
  • Fixed an issue in the HiveMQ Platform Operator Init App that caused an exception when modifying XML files.
  • Fixed an issue where using a custom logback.xml file could cause an outage in the HiveMQ Platform Operator Init App.
  • Fixed an issue where a runtime error in the HiveMQ Platform Operator Init App could cause liveness and readiness checks to fail.
