What's New in HiveMQ 4.46?
The HiveMQ team is excited to announce the release of HiveMQ Enterprise MQTT Platform 4.46. This release delivers additional metrics in the HiveMQ Control Center v2 Kafka Extension Dashboard, expanded dropped message details in HiveMQ Control Center v2 Dropped Messages view, and several fixes and performance enhancements for the HiveMQ broker and HiveMQ Enterprise Security Extension.
Highlights
- New metrics in the HiveMQ Control Center v2 Kafka Extension Dashboard
- Expanded dropped message details in the HiveMQ Control Center v2 Dropped Messages view
Additional Metrics in the Kafka Extension Dashboard
In HiveMQ 4.44, we introduced a comprehensive operational dashboard for the HiveMQ Enterprise Extension for Kafka to provide real-time visibility into the health, performance, and throughput of your Kafka integration.
HiveMQ 4.46 further enhances this dashboard with granular metrics per mapping and transformer for even deeper insight into message processing and performance trends.
How it works
- Configure and enable your Kafka integration.
- Open HiveMQ Control Center v2 and select Kafka from the Integrations menu.
- Use the dropdown menu to view metrics for each mapping or transformer in the selected direction.
For full details, see our documentation.
How it helps
The new per-mapping and per-transformer Kafka Extension metrics provide fine-grained visibility into message flow within your Kafka extension. You can now monitor performance in greater detail, identify bottlenecks faster, and optimize your integration more efficiently.
Future releases will continue to expand the Kafka dashboard with even more metrics and visualization options for deeper operational insight.
Expanded Dropped Message Reasons in HiveMQ Control Center v2
HiveMQ 4.38 introduced Dropped Messages details in Control Center v2 to provide a clear overview of message delivery issues across your HiveMQ deployment.
With HiveMQ 4.46, we have expanded this functionality to include additional dropped message reason details for extension consumers and shared subscriptions.
How it works
The HiveMQ Control Center v2 Overview dashboard offers key metrics on the current state of your HiveMQ deployment at a glance. To access the new Dropped Messages details, simply select the Dropped Messages graph at the top of the overview:
The Dropped Messages details show a summary of dropped messages categorized by reason, as well as a history chart to visualize dropped messages over time. Starting with HiveMQ 4.46, two additional dropped message reasons: Extension Consumer Queue Full and Shared Subscription Queue Full are added to the Reasons for dropped messages area:
The View details option gives you access to further dropped message information per client, shared subscription, and extension consumer:

How it helps
The enhanced Dropped Messages details provide deeper visibility into message flow and reliability. Comprehensive reason tracking gives immediate insights to help you quickly identify and resolve issues that impact specific clients, shared subscriptions, or extension consumers.
