HiveMQ 4.28.23 Maintenance Release

by HiveMQ Team

The HiveMQ team is pleased to announce the availability of HiveMQ 4.28.23.

This maintenance release for the 4.28 series includes the following improvement:

HiveMQ Enterprise MQTT Broker

  • The HiveMQ Platform Docker images are now built on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Noble Numbat). The upgrade from Ubuntu 22.04 LTS to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS ensures your deployments benefit from the latest security patches, updated system libraries, and an extended Long-Term Support window.

If you build custom Docker images on top of the HiveMQ base image, test your images against the new base before deploying to production to verify full compatibility with the updated OS environment.

Note: The Java runtime will be updated to JDK-21.0.10 in the upcoming HiveMQ 4.50.0 and HiveMQ 4.48.24 versions of the official HiveMQ Docker images.

Scope: These changes only affect Docker-based deployments. Bare-metal and VM-based deployments are not affected.

Have a great day, The HiveMQ Team
