We are pleased to announce the release of HiveMQ 1.4.4. This is a feature & bugfix release. All users of HiveMQ 1.4, especially the ones with custom plugins, are advised to update if possible.

This release fixes some bugs in the plugin authentication and authorization mechanism. We also fixed a rare bug which disconnected clients with invalid MQTT CONNECT messages before sending a MQTT CONNACK message. Thanks to all the people who reported this bug!

This release also brings the ability to bind HiveMQ to different network interfaces. Now you can use a network interface for MQTT over standard TCP and another network interface for MQTT over SSL. The same is also true for websockets and secure websockets.

You can view the complete changelog here.

We hope you enjoy this update. We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments about this release!
